Agazaryan's 'Evacuation' Continues: 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' reports that the operation to 'evacuate' Hovik Agazaryan continues within the Civil Contract party, as he has also been removed from the National Assembly's Economic Permanent Commission. He has been replaced by the newly elected parliamentarian Aleksandr Avetisyan, a former advisor to the Prime Minister.
The issue is that Agazaryan was part of this commission through the quota of the Civil Contract party and after being expelled from the party, he has also been 'ignored' in all international delegations he was a part of. Meanwhile, despite Agazaryan's lawyer claiming that he could be brought before the National Assembly starting January 20 with a motion to strip him of immunity from the Prosecutor General, as of yesterday, lawmakers had not received such a motion. Furthermore, it was reported that for about a month and a half, law enforcement has also left Agazaryan alone, while after Prime Minister Pashinyan's urging for him to resign his mandate, he was summoned for questioning on various proceedings every day of the week, seemingly attempting to pressure him through these means.
As for Argishti Karamyan's case, it has reached a deadlock, with no evidence found to support the former head of the Investigative Committee's claim that Agazaryan intervened in a criminal case concerning his son.
