What Caused the Accident That Claimed the Life of the MP? Criminal Proceedings Initiated
A tragic car accident has claimed the life of MP Mher Sahakyan from the National Assembly. In response to the incident, the Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings. Kim Avdalyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, informed "Factinfo" that the proceedings have been initiated under Article 342, Part 2 of the Armenian Criminal Code. This article pertains to the violation of safety regulations for road traffic or the operation of vehicles that has resulted in a person's death.
Avdalyan clarified that a forensic examination of the body has been ordered as part of the criminal investigation. It is noteworthy that Mher Sahakyan, a member of the "Armenia" parliamentary faction, tragically lost his life as a result of this accident. According to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on January 13, at approximately 4:41 PM, a citizen contacted the 911 emergency service, reporting that they had observed a flipped Honda vehicle belonging to a friend in a ravine along the 90th km stretch of the Yerevan-Meghri highway. Personnel from the Ministry's police and rescue services were dispatched to the scene.
