Air Quality in Glendale Affected by Fires is Cleaner than in Yerevan, Vardanyan Says

A member of the Yerevan City Council, candidate of medical sciences, and associate professor Kristina Vardanyan has published on her Facebook page the dust concentration levels in the air of Glendale, located in the fire zone, compared to those in Yerevan. The data reveals that the situation is worse in Armenia's capital.

“Winter is to blame, summer was just fine…” she stated. “You live with the fallout of ignoring international experts and cutting down dense trees in countless streets. In the name of ‘concern’… During council sessions and hundreds of interviews, we spoke about the impending disaster… Interests, interests… Just ten days ago, we were countered with claims that the devices are not credible (I’m attaching a special link from the city hall). Now suddenly, a meeting convenes saying there’s an issue with air quality, and we need to engage our specialists… Who’s collecting political dividends now… The city hall claimed, ‘Dust exceeding 22-30 µg/m³ is dangerous…’ Everything is on my page… Keep up the DILETTANTISM AND YOUR unprecedented results!’” Vardanyan wrote.
