Trump's Team Still Uncertain on How to End the War in Ukraine, FT
The team of newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump is reviewing its approach to ending the Russia-Ukraine war, reports the Financial Times, citing sources.
The publication spoke with unnamed European officials who have discussed the potential resolution of the war with Trump’s team in recent weeks. According to them, it became clear during negotiations that the incoming president's associates have yet to determine how to address this conflict.
“The entire Trump team is focused on strength and presenting a strong image, which is why they are reassessing their approach to Ukraine,” one of the sources told the Financial Times. According to the source, Trump’s forthcoming administration is concerned that their decisions regarding Ukraine could be compared to the “disastrous” withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan under Joe Biden.
