Defense Ministry Staff Vehicles Cut Amid Austerity Measures

The newspaper "Zhoghavorod" reports that employees of the Armenian Ministry of Defense have raised concerns about recent cuts affecting regular staff. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has introduced austerity measures that have now reached these employees.

On November 22, Pashinyan released a video stating his intention to reduce the number of service vehicles used by government agencies: "I requested a list of vehicles from the departments and marked them with a pen. This is an ax approach. I will cut 80-90% of them with an ax." As a result, regular employees have found themselves impacted by these cuts.

Specifically, several Ministry of Defense employees contacted the editorial office of "Zhoghavorod" to express their frustration. They revealed that the leadership of the Ministry of Defense announced yesterday that the ministry’s buses, which had previously provided free transportation for employees from specific areas of Armenia to the ministry, will no longer operate.

This service will cease, and employees have been warned that those who are late should consider themselves dismissed. Employees have reported that no transportation is currently going to the ministry's building, leaving them faced with the harsh reality of this sudden decision.
