Video: Georgian Opposition Launches Another Protest

Another anti-government protest is currently taking place in Tbilisi, with central Rustaveli Avenue blocked to traffic, reports a correspondent from RIA Novosti.

The ongoing protests in Georgia began after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on November 28, 2024, that discussions about starting negotiations for the country's membership in the European Union would be suspended until 2028.

During the protests, law enforcement has detained several hundred individuals.

Participants of the Christmas march from various churches in Tbilisi are joining the protest, making their way to Rustaveli Avenue. On the 40th day of the protest, demonstrators will gather at the Kashueti Church to celebrate Christmas Eve together.
