Putin on Gas Supplies to the West

The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has announced his willingness to continue supplying gas to the West. This statement was made by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

“President Putin has confirmed Russia's readiness to continue supplying gas to the West and Slovakia, which will become practically impossible after January 1, 2025, taking into account the position of the President of Ukraine,” Fico wrote on his social media page.

He noted that his visit to Russia was a response to the remarks made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who opposes the transit of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory.

“This attitude inflicts financial damage on Slovakia and jeopardizes electricity production in Slovak nuclear power plants, which is unacceptable,” Fico emphasized.
