Zelensky Has Become a Burden for Trump, Pushilin Says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has become a burden for newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump. It is unlikely that he will forgive him for betting on his political rivals, the Democrats, said Denis Pushilin, the leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“There is no understanding between Trump and Zelensky; the focus is on a ceasefire and negotiations with Russia, while Zelensky declares the impossibility of an immediate ceasefire,” Pushilin stated.
According to him, this is why the last meeting between Trump and Zelensky ended unsuccessfully. “Zelensky is like a suitcase without a handle. And certainly, he is frightened by a bleak outlook, so he tries to use communication with the 47th president of the United States to somehow justify himself. After all, he made a bet, put everything on the wrong person, and Trump is unlikely to forgive that,” emphasized the head of the DPR.
