Zurabishvili Refuses to Leave Presidential Palace
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, has refused to leave the presidential palace even after the expiration of her mandate. This date will arrive on December 29, as reported by Life.ru.
“I am not going anywhere. I do not intend to leave anyone behind. People always ask me about this: I will remain here,” said the still-serving President of Georgia in her televised address.
It is worth noting that Zurabishvili is actively supporting those protesting against the results of the parliamentary elections, which were won by the “Georgian Dream” party, aimed at opposing Western interference.
Following the victory, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that Georgia would withdraw from EU membership negotiations until 2028. This has sparked a new wave of protests. Presidential elections are set to take place in Georgia tomorrow. Earlier, media sources reported that Zurabishvili would attempt to cancel them.
