Turkey to Open Embassy in Damascus

Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has announced that a Turkish delegation has traveled to Damascus to commence operations of the embassy. This was reported by РИА Новости.

It is noted that the embassy's operations are expected to begin on Saturday. Fidan had previously stated that Ankara is preparing to reopen its embassy in Syria. Burhan Kyoroglu, Turkey's ambassador in Nouakchott, has been appointed as the chargé d'affaires at the embassy in Damascus, as reported by A Haber.
