NSS and Special Investigation Service on Analyzing Agazarian's Phone: 'Hraparak'
Hovik Agazarian's lawyer had previously applied to the prosecutor's office to clarify how the deputy's personal data ended up in the hands of a third party, namely, the Prime Minister. Before that, he had sent inquiries to the Anti-Corruption Committee and the NSS, demanding clarification on when, why, and to whom Agazarian's phone was handed over, and how private and confidential information obtained during investigative actions was shared with others. The lawyer questioned what actions were taken if the NSS identified a threat to state security.
We had reported that after receiving no response from both bodies, the lawyer turned to the prosecutor's office. This was reported by 'Hraparak' daily.
'Yesterday, we learned that both bodies had responded, or rather, avoided responding, which also indicates that no threats were identified and that the phone was illegally transferred first to the investigator and then to the head of the NSS, where the information was analyzed and displayed on Pashinyan's desk before being passed on to the entire team.
The NSS responded, saying, 'In response to your inquiry, we inform you that it mentions evidence and other procedural actions related to the criminal proceedings being conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, and therefore, it is suggested to request the necessary information from the authority conducting the proceedings.' Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Committee stated that the information from the phone was used exclusively based on the grounds and procedures established by law,' the daily reported.
