Deadly Weapons to Armenia, EU Mission on Border Concerns: Hajiev's Statements

We regret that France, contrary to international law, is participating in the militarization program of Armenia. This was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan.

Hajiyev noted that Armenia has received "deadly weapons from France." He emphasized, "France is one of the main forces behind the militarization of Armenia, so its militarization is a matter of responsibility."

Hajiyev also addressed the activities of the EU mission on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, stating that it should be terminated. "We do not see the necessity of an EU mission on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The operations of this mission should come to an end. The deployment of the mission in Prague was agreed upon with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as Charles Michel and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This mission was supposed to be short-term; however, as we can see, it is becoming a permanent mission, and its composition and geographical mandate are expanding. We do not see the need for third-party involvement in the delimitation process conducted in the context of mutual understanding and peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We do not consider the EU mission a factor that contributes to the strengthening of peace in the region. This is concerning," Hajiyev said.
