Alen Simonyan Reduces Vehicles, While the National Assembly Staff Withdraws Funds for Maintenance

The staff of the National Assembly of Armenia has recently insured service vehicles that are set to be reduced, paying a total of 2 million 280 thousand drams for the general contract. This was reported by the newspaper "Zhoghovurd."

The newspaper clarified through official sources that the National Assembly signed a contract with "Sil Insurance" CJSC on November 22, 2024, to obtain insurance services related to transportation. Under this contract, the National Assembly has insured 41 vehicles.

This would not be strange if Prime Minister Pashinyan had not been on air with a pen in hand, reducing the number of service vehicles, and Alen Simonyan, inspired by him, had not noted that "the National Assembly of Armenia had 81 transport vehicles before the revolution at the beginning of 2018, later reducing that number:

  • 2018 – 10 vehicles,
  • 2019 – 4 vehicles,
  • 2020 – 3 vehicles,
  • 2021 – 17 vehicles,
  • 2022 – 2 vehicles,
  • 2023 – 3 vehicles,
  • In 2024, the reduction process of another 12 vehicles has started, which will be completed by the end of the year. As a result, by the beginning of 2025, the National Assembly will have only 30 transport vehicles:

Once again, 2018 had 81 vehicles, and by 2025 there will be only 30.

However, it seems that the head of the staff appointed by Simonyan, David Arakelyan, does not read this statement, and a month later, insures 41 vehicles for the National Assembly that is supposed to have only 30 vehicles.

We tried to clarify these issues with the National Assembly, where Simonyan's press secretary, Movses Harutyunyan, explained the following: “The condition is this: The NA announces a tender (referring to a competitive selection), the winner is determined, but it is implemented when we allocate funds. We have not paid any funds now, but the money will be transferred for 30 vehicles.”

In short, the contract is signed, but the money has not been transferred. But if David Arakelyan had received his diploma, reminiscent of artificial education from the National Academy of Sciences earlier than taking office, perhaps he would have been wiser and insured the remaining vehicles after the reductions,” wrote the newspaper.
