The RRC Proposes a New Tool for Public Response
The Broadcasting Regulation Commission (RRC) is introducing a new service named "Application-Complaint" on its official website starting December 10. This initiative aims to ensure more extensive and evidence-based public engagement and oversight of broadcast audiovisual content.
The Commission expects that Armenian citizens, public and professional organizations, mass media, and both public and private institutions will collaborate with the regulatory body to contribute to the creation of a safe media system that respects fundamental human rights.
The Commission highly values the improvement of public response culture and urges the public not to remain indifferent to content that includes hate speech and hostility, negatively affects minors, violates the rights of individuals with special needs, incites violence, and other violations of legislation that may be broadcasted on public multiplexes, cable networks, or radio frequencies.
Naturally, complaints should be based on facts. The Commission also requests that individuals consider the regulatory framework in which the regulatory body operates when filling out the online application.
