VIDEO: Military Helicopters Collide in Turkey, Casualties Reported

Two military helicopters have collided in Turkey, resulting in the crash of one helicopter and the tragic loss of six servicemen, according to Arabnews.

The second helicopter managed to land safely. Five of the injured died at the scene, while the sixth succumbed to injuries in the hospital. Among the deceased was a brigadier general who was overseeing a military aviation school.

The governor of the region, Abdullah Erin, reported, “The aviation accident occurred in the southwest of Isparta province during routine training flights.” The cause of the collision is not yet known. The governor has announced that an investigation has been initiated.

Private news agency DHA reported that the UH-1 service helicopter crashed into a field, splitting into two parts. The second helicopter landed approximately 400 meters away from the crash site.
