Powerful Storm Hits Ireland
Due to the Dara storm that wreaked havoc in the British Isles overnight, nearly 400,000 residents in Ireland have been left without electricity. In some areas, such as County Galway, wind speeds reached up to 141 km/h. Trees have fallen, roads have been blocked, and serious issues have arisen in transportation and rail communications.
Flights from Dublin Airport to Great Britain have been canceled, and the Dara storm has also caused damage in England. In Wales, the highest danger level, red, remains in effect due to weather conditions, with people advised not to leave their homes or use transportation.
Power lines have been damaged, leaving 55,000 households without electricity in Wales, the southwest of England, and the West Midlands. All mass events have been canceled.
