Militants Will Not Be Limited to Syria, Says Iran's Foreign Ministry

In a statement made during a joint press conference in Baghdad with his Syrian and Iraqi counterparts, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned that terrorist groups, if not eliminated in Syria, could extend their activities to Turkey, Jordan, and Iraq.

Araqchi emphasized that the threat posed by these militants is not confined to Syria, but threatens the entire region and may spread to other countries such as Jordan, Turkey, and Iraq. He stated, “Terrorism must be fought from the outset; otherwise, it will spread to adjacent areas. If we want to protect our security, we must defend our neighbors from terrorism,” according to Araqchi’s press service.

The diplomat also added that “anyone who overlooks the role of the Zionist regime (Israel) in the Syrian crisis is mistaken.” He reiterated that the activation of militants in Syria is the result of an “American-Israeli conspiracy” and remarked that “the countries that remain silent or support these terrorist actions must be held accountable.”
