Human Rights Defender on the Dismissal of Bus Drivers

The Human Rights Defender, Anahit Manasyan, has initiated mass monitoring work in the early hours of the morning to address issues regarding the labor rights of bus drivers in Yerevan. This effort aims to document the problems and ensure timely intervention, as reported by the Office of the Human Rights Defender.

“The existing facts related to the rights and obligations of the parties in labor relations are also being studied and analyzed from the perspective of international and domestic standards. The Defender considers it necessary to emphasize that in all cases, the efforts of employers must be aimed at ensuring the right of each employee to fair working conditions (including compliance with hygiene requirements, the right to rest, etc.) and ensuring fair compensation for each employee’s work,” the statement reads.

As a result of the monitoring activities, the Defender will address competent authorities to discuss the identified issues and outline possible solutions.
