VIDEO: Hundreds of Armenians Stranded in Lars, Children Transferred to Hospital
At the Upper Lars checkpoint, the situation is dire as hundreds of Armenians have been stuck for days, waiting to enter Armenia. MediaHub reports this alarming situation.
“We have been stuck here for three days, it’s cold, and people can’t endure it. The conditions are inhumane; the fuel in our vehicles has run out, and our money is also running low. We don’t even have the means to buy food,” one citizen traveling from Russia in a seven-seat vehicle shared during a conversation with the media.
According to him, there are women and children with them. “Yesterday, two children were taken to the hospital; they caught a cold and fell ill. We don’t know what to do. There’s been no response from Armenia. The customs officials haven’t contacted us either. We don’t know what to do,” he noted.
The interviewee also mentioned that they would soon lose access to bathroom facilities because they have to pay for that as well, but they can no longer afford it. “It frustrates us that the Armenian side claims that Lars is open and that there is no problem. Our relatives call and are surprised about how we haven’t arrived if it’s officially stated that the road is open,” he said.
He added that it is still snowing at the moment, and they are being told to just wait due to abnormal weather conditions.
