Minister on Removing Speed Cameras
There will be relevant clarifications and processes in the near future; we will move forward. At this moment, I cannot say more than what the Prime Minister of the Republic has said regarding the removal of speed cameras, said the Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, during a conversation with journalists.
“If the people see the necessity, they will have the opportunity,” said the minister in response to whether he sees a need to remove speed cameras.
It is noteworthy that earlier Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed this issue and mentioned: “Those who advocate for the removal of speed cameras, I will personally support the initiation of a signature collection campaign to bring a legislative proposal to the National Assembly regarding the removal of speed cameras. If they gather 50,000 signatures, it will come to the National Assembly; if the National Assembly votes against it, we will move to gather 300,000 signatures. This issue must be resolved in a popular manner.”
