VIDEO: Findings from Enhanced Law Enforcement Operations
The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs Police reports that, as a result of enhanced law enforcement operations, traffic rule violations totaling 3,715 were identified within just a few hours in the capital.
Specifically, there were 1,136 cases of driving without a seatbelt, 361 incidents where drivers were using tobacco products or mobile phones while driving, and 34 cases of pedestrians crossing in unauthorized areas. Additionally, 111 cases of driving with tinted windows were recorded, along with 936 other violations.
During the operation, police also conducted discussions with vehicle owners regarding the removal of parked cars from sidewalks. In some instances, officers opted to issue verbal warnings to citizens instead of formal citations.
The enhanced operations also included patrols in yards and areas adjacent to schools. It is noteworthy that 22 individuals were taken to departments on various suspicions. A total of 125 cars were moved to a special new facility for the holding of vehicles, which is equipped with modern lighting systems, panels, and surveillance cameras.
