Joint land exercises between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have commenced today in the border region of Aslanduz in the Ardabil province, under the title 'Joint Exercise Areas,' as reported by ISNA.
The 4-day joint exercises of special forces from both countries, named 'Joint Exercises Aras,' have started today in the Aslanduz area of Ardabil province. According to the public relations of the Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the objective of these exercises is to strengthen bilateral relations, enhance cooperation in combating organized illegal armed groups, ensure the security of common borders, develop military capabilities, and expand defense collaboration in operational and tactical domains.
Additionally, the senior Azerbaijani military delegation present at the exercise site emphasized the necessity of preparing for joint exercises in the event of any border threats.
