Trump Will Not Meet with Other Leaders, Kyodo

The newly elected president of the United States, Donald Trump, will not meet with foreign leaders and high-ranking representatives from other countries before officially assuming the duties of the president. This is reported by the Japanese news agency Kyodo.

According to sources within the Japanese government, Trump's team has informed the Japanese side that he has decided not to hold personal meetings with foreign high-ranking officials until the official inauguration of the newly elected president of the United States.

It is noteworthy that on November 15, Trump met with the president of Argentina during the Conservative Political Action Conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Kyodo also emphasizes that, in connection with this, there will be no meeting between Japan's new Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and Donald Trump before the end of the year.

In 2016, immediately after Trump's election victory, then Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made a special visit to the U.S., becoming one of the first foreign leaders to meet with Trump.

Republican Trump won the presidential elections on November 5. Based on the voting results, his party secured a majority of seats in the Senate and will also maintain control of the House of Representatives.

Trump's inauguration will take place on January 20, 2025.
