Will Russia Implement Harsh Measures? – ‘Hraparak’
The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service recently made a scandalous statement: ‘Washington is urging Armenia towards national suicide.’ This indicates that the United States is attempting to accelerate Armenia's adoption of a pro-Western course using methods tested in Ukraine and Moldova. The aim is to establish a stable anti-Russian direction in Armenia's socio-political processes. To this end, Washington plans to initiate a long-term informational and propaganda campaign, which will also aim to discredit the prospects of cooperation between Yerevan and Russia, the EAEU, and the CSTO, as well as disseminate information about the pressures faced by Armenian workers who have migrated to Russia.
This information was reported by the newspaper ‘Hraparak.’ According to government sources, prior to this statement, a delegation of officials from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service visited Armenia and presented information regarding the payments received by certain organizations and representatives of the authorities from the West for anti-Russian propaganda. They hinted that, akin to Georgia, a law on ‘Foreign Agents’ should be adopted in Armenia to prevent the flow of funds from abroad. If not, there is a possibility that Russia may use harsh measures to restore its influence in the Caucasus. They did not elaborate on how this would be done,” the newspaper stated.
