Since the Day I Became Prime Minister, There Has Not Been Such a Unique Case: Pashinyan

In my feeling, the public sentiment is such that there is a high level of corruption in Armenia today, there are major injustices, and there are substantial violations, which are turning into a political issue. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today, November 8, during his speech at the Anti-Corruption Committee, where he participated in a solemn session dedicated to the third anniversary of the establishment of the body and the Day of the Anti-Corruption Committee employee.

In this context, discussing the independence of the judicial and legal system, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized, "No one doubts this here. Moreover, I want to underline that the Government has ensured all conditions for there to be an independent judicial system in Armenia. It is excluded that there could be a unique case where someone claims that no case is progressing due to the political reluctance or political opposition of the Government, because the Government does not allow it, because the Government is an obstacle. Such a thing cannot happen at all. And I guarantee that since the day I became Prime Minister, no such unique cases have been recorded or will be recorded."

The Prime Minister added that despite this, there is a feeling of stagnation in the areas of justice and the fight against corruption. According to Nikol Pashinyan, this is a point that is not related to the independence of the judicial and legal system and is connected with political power since, in essence, the Government is the number one responsible for justice, legality, and justice in the country. "And this is the reason why I myself am compelled to speak more publicly and in more detail on these topics. And we need to find solutions to where the problem lies," the Prime Minister noted.
