Alen Simonyan Wishes to Meet with Azerbaijani Counterpart

The Speaker of the National Assembly anticipates a meeting with Sahib Gafarova, the President of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, in the near future. According to Alen Simonyan, the party that hosted their previous meeting is currently engaged in this matter. This was reported by azatutyun.am.

“I personally look forward to news regarding my meeting with my Azerbaijani counterpart so that we can continue our conversation,” stated the Parliamentary Speaker in an interview with Azatutyun. He also emphasized that there is currently no clarity on the possible meeting.

The last encounter between the speakers of the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan took place in May in Geneva during a Inter-Parliamentary Union assembly. Another meeting was scheduled for October, again in Geneva, but according to the Armenian side, Gafarova declined at the last minute.
