Sisian Mayor Awards His Own Uncle

The newly elected mayor of Sisian, 32-year-old Hovhannes Arakelyan, who was elected on October 24, made an important decision yesterday by presenting a certificate of appreciation to his own uncle, Karen Ivanian, who is the head of the staff of the Sisian Municipality. This was reported by the newspaper "Hraparak."

"It is worth noting that Arakelyan became mayor after Sisian's 'vocal' member of the ruling party, Karen Hambardzumyan, decided to replace his former protégé, former mayor Armen Hakobjan, to avoid being subordinated to him.
