Historic Gyumri to Have a New Look

The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, has announced that the historic city of Gyumri is set to undergo a complete transformation. “We are nearing the completion of the fountain system in Gyumri, and I hope we will launch it for operation during the months of April-May with a renovated square,” he stated in parliament.

He added, “I must say that the singing fountains in Yerevan will be in a much less favorable condition than what is planned for Gyumri. There will be singing fountains, fire displays, and more—the result will be fantastically beautiful. As a result of this project, the historic Gyumri will have a completely new appearance, and we are also placing emphasis on such infrastructures. All our cities should be attractive, developing, and interesting for tourists.”
