Arms Embargo Against Israel: Turkey Appeals to the UN
Turkey has submitted a letter to the United Nations calling for an arms embargo against Israel. This information has been reported by Anadolu, citing diplomatic sources from the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
It is noted that the document has been supported by over 50 countries and two international organizations: the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan proposed an initiative at the UN aimed at drawing international attention to the issue of halting the sale of weapons and munitions to Israel. The goal of the initiative is to prevent Israel from violating international law, including international humanitarian law and human rights, in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza, by stopping the sale of weapons and munitions to Israel.
