Regulations Come Into Force: Meeting Held at Armenian-Azerbaijani Border
On November 1, 2024, a meeting took place at the border of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, marking the tenth meeting between the State Commission on Border Demarcation and Border Security of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the State Commission on Border Demarcation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia. The meeting was chaired by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
During the meeting, in accordance with Article 7 of the Regulations signed on August 30, 2024, on the joint activities of the aforementioned Commissions, the Parties exchanged notifications regarding the implementation of the necessary domestic procedures required for the entry into force of the Regulations in their respective states.
Considering that Article 7 of the Regulations states that they come into force on the day of receipt of the last written notification of the completion of such procedures, the Parties recorded that the Regulations entered into force on November 1, 2024.
The Parties exchanged views on the sequence of sections for the continuation of the border demarcation works. They discussed drafts of guidelines related to the implementation of the border demarcation activities. The Parties agreed to coordinate the date and location of the next meeting in a working manner.
After the conclusion of the Commission meeting, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev separately discussed issues related to transportation communications.
