Citizen's Tree: The Aznavour Forest
As part of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the world-renowned chansonnier Charles Aznavour, a noteworthy and important initiative has begun. Specifically, Armenia will soon have a forest named after the legendary chansonnier. Besides being symbolic and a lasting value, it will also give a boost to our country’s green “lungs”.
It is important to emphasize that every Armenian has the opportunity to become a part of this initiative and have their own tree in the Charles Aznavour Forest. Thus, this initiative can also serve as an occasion to unite the community around an enlightening idea.
The idea of creating the Aznavour Forest is the initiative of the environmental NGO “My Forest Armenia”. They informed Auroranews that the Aznavour Forest will be planted in the Gegharkunik region, in a location visible to citizens. Around 100 hectares are planned for the forest, with 300,000 trees to be planted.
