Georgia's Parliamentary Elections Conclude: What We Know
The parliamentary elections in Georgia have concluded. The polling stations opened as scheduled at 08:00 and closed at 20:00.
Throughout the day, instances of violence were reported at polling stations in the Gldani and Isani districts of Tbilisi, as well as in the town of Zugdidi (Samegrelo region), in Gori (Shida Kartli region), and in the village of Kizilajlo.
Additionally, a case of demonstrative ballot stuffing was recorded in the village of Sadakhlo in the Marneuli district. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched a criminal case under the article of "Election Fraud." Representatives of the ruling party, the "Georgian Dream," have claimed victory in the elections, suggesting that opposition groups are orchestrating provocations. In response, the opposition has stated that the ruling party has resorted to violence out of desperation.
