Trump Denied Full Access to Harris Interview

CBS News has refused to release the complete and unedited version of the interview with Kamala Harris. Donald Trump, her opponent, is demanding its publication, but the network cited the First Amendment of the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech.

60 Minutes did an honorable job presenting the interview to inform rather than mislead its audience. “Your claim that 60 Minutes acted dishonestly is absolutely unfounded,” states a letter from CBS News sent to Trump's lawyers.

The letter notes that the interview was indeed edited, but only because the Vice President provided many responses, as the format of the show allows for no more than 21 minutes of content. “There is no legal basis in your request for us to provide you with the unedited version of the interview; therefore, we refuse to do so,” the letter addressed to Trump reads.

It should be noted that the controversial interview with Harris aired in early October as part of the 60 Minutes program. In a preview released before the interview, Harris struggled to provide a clear answer to the host's question regarding U.S. policy towards Israel, which led to mockery from Republicans. However, the complete version shown on television does not contain this segment.

Trump has accused CBS of fraud and demanded the network be stripped of its broadcasting license, as well as the release of the full interview.
