Russia Is Ready for Escalation of International Situation

Russia is prepared for the escalation of the international situation, while its policy does not lead to escalation; it is the other side that is 'playing' to escalate, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

'People, of course, are afraid of the escalation of the international situation related to tensions in various conflict zones, both in the Middle East and in Ukraine. But this escalation is not initiated by us. The other side is always trying to exacerbate the situation. However, we are ready for this escalation,' said the Russian leader at a press conference following the BRICS summit.

It is worth noting that delegations from 35 countries and 6 international organizations participated in the BRICS summit. Putin summarized the results of the summit held in Kazan.
