Brazilian President Cancels Today's Flight, Will Not Attend BRICS
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has canceled his trip to Kazan for the BRICS summit due to health issues. This was announced by the president's office.
Doctors have advised the president to temporarily avoid long flights. Lula was scheduled to fly to the summit on October 20 at 5:00 PM local time. However, while at his residence, he injured the back of his head.
The president was examined by doctors who concluded that he does not need hospitalization. The report also indicates that Brazilian President Lula received stitches for his wound.
Lula will still participate in the BRICS summit via video link.
