Britain Demands Beijing Not to Export Military Products to Russia

The UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy has told his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi that Beijing must not allow its military products to be exported to Russia. This was stated in a press release by the UK Foreign Office following a meeting of ministers in Beijing.

"The United Kingdom and China share a common interest in peace and the cessation of hostilities. Supplies of equipment by China to the Russian military-industrial complex could lead to deteriorating relations between China and Europe," the document states.

The British Foreign Secretary also urged Wang Yi to "take all necessary measures to address the situation regarding supplies." During his visit to China, the British minister emphasized the need to activate bilateral communications between London and Beijing.

Previously, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stated that the US and other Western countries are spreading misinformation regarding allegations that China is providing military assistance to Russia. Beijing has also noted that the economic and trade cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation is not aimed at any third party.
