The Minister of Justice Should Be from the Civil Contract Party: Hakob Aslanyan

The behavior of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Argishti Kharamyan, is unacceptable, and such a situation should not be created in parliament. This was stated by Hakob Aslanyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Civil Contract group, during a broadcast on 24News.

Commenting on the talks about initiating a petition demanding Kharamyan's resignation and the parliament's assessment of his behavior, the deputy noted that if a petition were to be started, he would act according to his conscience and would not allow the dignity of a member of parliament to be tarnished.

“Hovik Aghazaryan is my friend; it wouldn’t be right for me to initiate a petition against Kharamyan. However, it is a fact that society is dissatisfied with the work of the committee's head,” the deputy highlighted.

Speaking about the candidates for the Minister of Justice, Aslanyan said that in his opinion, the minister should be from their team so that the parliament members can oversee and demand accountability. “I support Armen Khachatryan from the Civil Contract faction to become the minister; it is important that the head of the sector is also a good manager,” he said.
