You and My Close Friend Ilham Heydarovich Must Know: Lukashenko to Azerbaijan's Prime Minister
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that the friendship between Belarus and Azerbaijan is not directed against third countries. The two nations are working for the interests of their peoples, he noted during a meeting with Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
“Despite various fluctuations in the international arena, you and my friend, my very close Ilham Heydarovich, must know that there are no closed topics in the relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan. Furthermore, we do not violate any norms of international law, we are not making friendships against third countries, we are doing our work for the sake of our peoples,” Lukashenko told Asadov.
Asadov emphasized that Azerbaijan ranks among the closest countries to Belarus alongside Russia. During his visit to Azerbaijan, the Belarusian leader also highlighted the necessity of implementing the agreements reached between the two countries. He mentioned that Minsk and Baku mutually support each other on international platforms.
In turn, Asadov remarked that Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev places great significance on the historically established friendly relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan.
