Mirzoyan on the Possibility of Exiting the CSTO

It is necessary to carefully assess all the risks associated with Armenia's potential exit from the CSTO. This was stated today by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a meeting held within the framework of the security forum in Warsaw, answering questions about the prospects of the country leaving the organization. He emphasized that special caution should be exercised regarding this issue.

“Stability is paramount, and any process that may occur needs to be meticulously calculated and managed, especially from a risk perspective. This is not an easy question,” noted Mirzoyan.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at the Global Armenian Summit, stated that the country is approaching a “point of no return” in its relations with the CSTO, accusing the organization of creating “threats to Armenia's sovereignty.”

Pashinyan's statement was met with a reaction from the Kremlin. Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov expressed disagreement with the Armenian Prime Minister’s assessments, highlighting that no threats emanate from the CSTO; on the contrary, the organization's mission is to protect the sovereignty of its member states.
