VIDEO. The Mayor of Panik on Scandalous Video: ‘Aravot’
A video has been circulating on the internet for several days, featuring Gevorg Salnazaryan, the administrative head of the Panik village in the enlarged community of Artik, Shirak Province, confessing his love to his beloved. He states that he has not spoken to her for a long time and misses her. “I die for your heart, I love you immensely, infinitely, my precious, my only one, the sun of my life. I want to hug and kiss you,” the administrative head says in literary Armenian with a melodious and romantic voice, leaving the impression that he is reciting poetry.
The video was filmed in the mayor's office during working hours, prompting some to comment, “Look at what the mayor is doing during work hours.” Numerous comments have been posted beneath the video, with many users expressing their surprise at the invasion of a person's private life, reminding that personal life is constitutionally protected and sharing it is shameful. They advised the mayor to file a lawsuit.
In an interview with aravot.am, the mayor stated that “they have set this up against me.” “What does it mean to set someone up, they have tried to do other things as well. I don't know who and why wants to discredit me. I have served the people of Panik for 13 years and have done so much for my fellow villagers. I don’t want to publicize my private life, but let it be known that my words were directed at my wife.”
