The Death Toll and Casualties from Recent Explosions in Lebanon Continue to Rise

On September 18, the death toll from a second wave of explosions in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon has reached 20, with over 450 people injured, according to reports by The Associated Press.

The latest attacks targeted radio stations and solar power plants. Various sources claim that the attacks were carried out by Israel, aiming at members of the Hezbollah group; however, among the casualties are civilians, including children. On September 17, an explosion from pagers had killed 12 people and injured 2800.

One of the new explosions occurred in Beirut during the funeral of three members of Hezbollah and a child who were killed in the previous day's pager explosion. According to an AP photographer, a vehicle and a mobile phone shop exploded in the coastal city of Sidon. Additionally, in the south of the country, a girl was injured due to the explosion of a solar power station.

Israel has not commented on these explosions, but Defense Minister Yoav Gallant spoke on September 18 about the start of a new phase in the war, praising the Israeli army and security services, stating that 'the results are very impressive.'
