New Explosions Erupt in Lebanon
Explosions have been reported in Lebanon, resembling the detonation of several hundred pagers, according to RIA Novosti. Local media are reporting explosions involving mobile devices in the hands of people, as well as in vehicles and motorcycles, in southern Lebanon and in the southern suburbs of Beirut. It has been noted that this involves not only pagers but also other types of electronics, such as smartphones, radio receivers, and more.
It should be reminded that mass explosions of pagers occurred in the country the day before. The Lebanese Ministry of Health has reported 12 fatalities and over 2,800 injured as a result of this tragedy.
The Lebanese government has blamed Israel for the incidents, while the Hezbollah movement has vowed to retaliate strongly against Israel. Movement leaders have called on their supporters to discard pagers due to the threat of further explosions.
