Russia's Claims on the 'Zangezur Corridor' Unacceptable, Says Iranian Parliament

Fada Hossein Maleki, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, has criticized Russia's stance on the 'Zangezur Corridor,' stating that Russia's claims regarding this corridor are unacceptable, as reported by Mehr.

During an open session of Parliament on Sunday, Fada Hossein Maleki stated that Russian officials recently made demands concerning the Zangezur Corridor, which he asserted is unacceptable for the Iranian people and Parliament. He emphasized that the Foreign Ministry should issue a strong warning to the Russian side in this regard.

He also recalled that Iran is accused of standing with Russia in the Ukrainian war, while the Russians consider Iran’s three islands (Greater and Lesser Tombs and Abu Musa) to belong to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and assert claims regarding the 'Zangezur Corridor,' which are unacceptable for Iran, stressed Maleki.

Moreover, Russia's interference in the affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia is deemed unacceptable by Iran, and they should be warned, added the parliamentary commission member.
