Labor Contracts to be Digitized, Electronic Signatures to Become Mandatory

The digitization of labor contracts and the mandatory use of electronic signatures will come into effect on January 1, 2026. This was stated by Ruben Sargsyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, during a discussion on the topic "Digitization of Labor Contracts: A Real Solution to Labor Violations or Cosmetic Reform." He assured that the goal of this change is to enhance the protection of labor rights.

“We plan to have all labor contracts concluded exclusively through a digital system. We have scheduled the implementation in phases. In the first phase, we expect that starting July 1 of next year, the signing will be on a voluntary basis. From January 1, 2026, it will be mandatory for everyone to sign their labor contracts only on a digital platform. No paper version will be provided, and everyone will always have access to their contracts,” stated the Deputy Minister.

He also emphasized that a system for digital contracts will be introduced on the website of the State Revenue Committee, and the labor contract will be generated before filling out the application. Sargsyan highlighted that such changes would reduce bureaucracy and additional costs, and labor contracts will be drafted more competently.
