Yerevan Municipality Purchases Electric Vehicles Worth $644,000
The Yerevan Municipality has purchased 21 electric cars for $644,000. This was reported by Hetq, citing information from the municipality.
According to the examination of the vehicle purchase contracts, the municipality acquired one 2023-produced Mercedes EQE500 and 20 BYD Song Plus cars produced in 2024. Notably, the cost of one Mercedes could facilitate the purchase of three BYD vehicles.
In May of this year, the Yerevan Municipality previously procured 20 new electric cars, all of which are BYD Song Plus models, 2024 production. An electronic auction was announced for the purchase of the vehicles, with the lowest bid submitted by Eco Motors Group LLC. The price of each vehicle is 11 million drams (approximately $28,000).
In response to an official inquiry about the matter, the municipality stated that the electric cars will serve the structural subdivisions of the Yerevan Municipality. According to the technical specifications of the vehicles, the maximum range is 200 km. The exterior dimensions of the vehicle are 4785 mm x 1980 mm x 1660 mm, and it features an automatic transmission. The battery capacity is 71.8 kWh, providing a power output of 204 hp. On a single charge, the vehicle can travel up to 520 km. The warranty period for the electric vehicle is 5 years or 150,000 km of mileage, while the warranty for the individual parts, including the motor and battery, is 8 years or 150,000 km.
Additionally, the Yerevan Municipality is set to make another purchase from Eco Motors Group LLC this August, having allocated approximately 33 million drams for acquiring another electric vehicle, specifically a Mercedes EQE500 from 2023.
According to the technical specifications, the newly acquired electric vehicle is all-wheel drive, with a range of 200 km. Its dimensions are 4880 mm x 2032 mm x 1679 mm, and it also has an automatic transmission. The battery capacity is 96.1 kWh and delivers a power output of 480 hp, allowing the vehicle to travel up to 609 km on a single charge. It shares the same warranty terms as the previous purchase.
When asked about who would be using the costly Mercedes EQE500, the municipality promised to provide a response to the written inquiry. It can be assumed that the Mercedes EQE500 might serve Mayor Tigran Avinyan.
Eco Motors Group LLC was established in 2021, with Armen Abrahamiann as the sole shareholder.
