Police Officer Injured in Armavir Undergoes Surgery

A police lieutenant, Arthur Aivazyan, who was injured while performing his duties in the Nalbandyan community of the Armavir region, has undergone surgery. This information was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the press secretary of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Narek Sargsyan.

Earlier, it was reported that on September 7, during the verification of operational information, a resident of the village fired shots at the police officers. One of them, police captain Hayrapet Stepanyan, was killed, while the other was injured.

“The officer has been operated on and is under the care of doctors; his life is not in danger,” Sargsyan noted.
