Legend of KVN Alexander Maslyakov Passes Away at 82
Alexander Maslyakov, the former host of KVN, has passed away at the age of 82. This news was reported on the show's Telegram channel.
KVN did not specify the cause of the host's death. "He was and will remain a legend for all participants of the KVN movement and millions of viewers worldwide. Since 1964, he has hosted the KVN program, becoming a symbol of humor and satire in Russia and abroad," the press service reported.
In April, it was announced that Maslyakov was undergoing treatment for a non-operable lung tumor. It was noted that the television host's health issues began after he suffered from coronavirus in 2022.
In 1994, Maslyakov was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of Russia." In 2002, he received the TEFI award for his personal contribution to the development of Russian television. Additionally, he is a full holder of the "Order for Service to the Fatherland" medal.
