Unpleasant Surprise for Football Fans: National Team Match Ticket Prices Have Increased
Today, the Armenian national football team will play its first match in the Nations League at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium against the Latvian team. However, the Football Federation of Armenia has prepared an unpleasant surprise for fans by raising the ticket prices for the stadium.
Previously, ticket prices for the Eastern Tribune ranged from 3,000 to 8,000 drams, but now they have increased to between 5,000 and 12,000 drams. Meanwhile, tickets for the Western Tribune, which used to cost between 5,000 and 10,000 drams, have seen their prices rise to between 10,000 and 16,000 drams. This has led to considerable dissatisfaction among football fans.
Of course, the Federation has done a “great favor” by keeping the ticket prices for the Southern and Northern Tribunes the same, but it is clear that this is, to put it mildly, not much comfort for those really wanting to watch football live at the stadium. Firstly, this is not a match for the World or European Championships, and our opponents are not teams like France, Portugal, England, Spain, or Germany. Even under those circumstances, such prices would still be very high for Armenia.
Moreover, it is essential to note that regardless of everything, we all stand by the national team; however, it cannot be ignored that the team has been performing very poorly. In the last 10 matches, the national team has celebrated only 1 victory (and that was in a friendly match), played two matches that ended in draws, and lost 7 games. Instead of ensuring the stadium is always fully packed, ticket prices are being raised.
