Woman Invited to Summer House in Gegharkunik, Attempted Rape and Gunshots Reported

On August 26, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. According to shamshyan.com, at around 16:40, a 34-year-old resident of the Kotayk region, identified as T. Sh., called the Chambarak police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia and reported that on the night of August 13-14, he had gone to a summer house in the village of Draxthik, invited by his mother's nephew, a 22-year-old resident of the Kotayk region, named G. E. There, individuals began to drink, smoke, and engage in other actions.

According to the caller, a 34-year-old resident of the Kotayk region, G. A., joined the gathering and allegedly attempted to assault him. A fight ensued, resulting in T. Sh. fleeing the scene. G. A. then approached in his vehicle, fired two shots, and forced T. Sh. to get into his car. At that moment, G. E. approached, and the argument continued.

They convinced T. Sh. that another vehicle was coming to get him. They took him to a nearby area, where G. A. again attempted to sexually assault him and physically drag him. However, T. Sh. managed to strike back and fled. Noticing an unfamiliar vehicle in the area, he asked for help, and they took him to a nearby residence, provided him with water, and then left.

As reported, during this incident, T. Sh. alleged that 180,000 dram, 100 dollars, and 300 rubles were stolen from his bag left in the summer house. T. Sh. sent a message to G. A. and reached an agreement on returning the mentioned amount. However, G. A. only returned 20,000 dram and insisted that he needed to repay in another way, also threatening T. Sh. that he was 'setting him up.'

The Chambarak police department is taking measures to locate G. A. and G. E. Documents have been prepared on the case, which have been transferred to the Sevan investigative division of the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
