Turkish Woman Killed in Palestine, Erdogan Expected to Speak: Lapshin's Post

A Turkish citizen, Aysenur Ezgi Yegin, who also holds a U.S. passport, was killed today near the city of Shechem in the West Bank of the Palestinian Authority. This was reported by Alexander Lapshin on his Facebook page.

"She entered Israel as a tourist, explaining her reason for the visit as tourism to the holy sites. She then went to the West Bank and participated in protests by Palestinians. A large crowd of demonstrators, including the Turkish woman, headed towards an Israeli military outpost and began throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at soldiers. The soldiers opened fire in self-defense, injuring several attackers, including the Turkish woman, who sustained fatal injuries," Lapshin wrote.

According to Lapshin, the Turkish woman's journey to Israel was fully 'successful' as she never reached the holy sites and instead engaged in 'crossfire' with the soldiers. Turkish media are furious, and Erdogan is likely to make a statement soon claiming that 'Jerusalem is an ancient Turkish city.' He posed a rhetorical question: how many seconds (not even minutes) would a tourist who throws stones at police in Istanbul survive?"
